Old Oak Standing (lyrics and music by Baum) There's an old oak standing, it's a good old tree He once crossed the rivers and the seven seas of love When he tells the stories of his younger days Oh, his bark gets wrinkly, engraves a smiling trace of love And the leaves fall to the ground And we all sing to the sound of love In his backyard garden, standing fierce and tall After all these seasons it's slowly getting fall, oh love! May the winds be blowing, may the snowflakes come We all are your children, and I am all your son of love And the leaves fall to the ground And we all sing to the sound of love And the leaves fall into the sky And we all sing with a sigh We all have made mistakes, brought up the silly fakes Oh carry us until your branches break, oh love! These roots you have are real, no space left to conceal You're young enough to make us feel, oh, love And the leaves fall to the ground And we all sing to the sound of love And the leaves fall into the sky And we all sing with a sigh for love And the leaves fall to the ground And we all sing to the sound of love And the leaves fall into the sky And we all sing with a sigh, oh love! And the leaves fall to the sound of love And we all sing to the ground

Sad 03:00
Sad (lyrics and music by Baum) We thought that this was forever That we could conquer the world We were close to perfection So close, so close We thought that we were together That we could dance like two swirls So full of anticipation So full, so full But then it all went somewhere And then it all went down I am oh so sorry, I am oh so sad Cause we lost everything that we almost had Cause I'm stuck in here while you're over there I am oh so sad Status is quite irritating Back then, again and again There is no explanation No more for no one But then it all went somewhere And then it all went down I am oh so sorry, I am oh so sad Cause we lost everything that we almost had Cause I'm stuck in here while you're over there I am oh so, I am oh so, I am oh so sorry I am oh so sad Cause we lost everything that we almost had Cause I'm stuck in here while you're over there I am oh so free

Damn 03:42
Damn (lyrics and music by Baum) He folds his pants and all his shirts With some things but it still hurts, and after all He puts them back In a bag he bought across the street When he already knew He gets the books that he once bought For writing in the things he thought, so honestly And puts them back In a bag he bought across the street When he knew that was it And he goes like: Damn! Is this really enough? Damn! Does the pain begin right now? Haven't I done everything To be better than most of these clowns? He takes the lift to the ground Stepping out to get the sound, now on his own He hesitates Left, right, left, he hates to cross that street Now he knows that was it And he goes like... He folds his pants and all his shirts And some things cause it still hurts after all And puts them back In a bag he got across the street When he already knew And he goes like...

Crow 02:40
Crow (lyrics and music by Baum) You won't get me cause I'm too fast I have my wings, so long my friend Don't look for me nothing will last And sing my song until the end Home sweet home, sweet garbage can Supper's ready and so am I I felt alone when all began I want myself prepare to fly I'm a crow, don't look for me right now Somewhere across the whole wide world In a thousand trees, yeah yeah I'm a crow, don't look for me too long I'm proud of flying with the wind You won't find me on my knees The world gets small, fades away Round and blue, but anyway After all, what should I say I never knew where I should stay I'm a crow, don't look for me right now Somewhere across the whole wide world In a thousand trees, yeah yeah I'm a crow, don't look for me too long I'm proud of flying with the wind You won't find me on my knees Forwards, backwards, up and down Free as a bird in golden cage Forewards, backwards, up and down I don't need more than living wage I'm a crow, don't look for me right now...

about

Everything changes, whether we like it or not.

Obviously it’s a big thing to get the chance to record in a studio where Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Depeche Mode, Justin Timberlake, Usher and Kanye West produce their albums. It mainly means two things: that this is one of the best studios in the world, and that if you fail you should put the blame on yourself. I faced up to this challenge – as a composer, lyricist, musician and producer.

After recording, the mix was done with sound engineer Tim Leitner (Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Cyndi Lauper) at Bar1 Studios NYC and the mastering with Paul Logus (Sean Combs, Mary J. Blige, Public Enemy). The first result of this production is the EP «We Thought That This Was Forever», which also includes the brand new song «Old Oak Standing». The production of this particular song began in New York and was finalized at Helium Records in Basel, Switzerland.

«There is nothing permanent except change», said Heraclitus of Ephesus. Everything changes, whether we like it or not. That's exactly what the title of the EP refers to: nothing remains forever. We, the musicians, tend to call our productions our «babies». However, I think our outputs are more an expression of how lucky we are that we can constantly work, put our ideas into practice, and that we can always improve. Therefore, «We Thought That This Was Forever» is rather a snapshot of continuous work. I am proud and thankful for having one of the best jobs in the world.

about

BAUM Switzerland

"Baum's intense and passionate performance was probably the best I witnessed at any gig for a long time. When I saw him live I actually felt privileged to be in the presence of someone with so much talent, so much passion, with songwriting of the highest quality. We really should be seeing this guy in the Olympia."
